Cynthia Lanius, CRPC Manager, K-12 Programs wins Rice Women's Resource Center IMPACT Award

Cynthia Lanius, CRPC Manager, K-12 Programs and Co-Director of CRPC's GirlTECH/MCSA Workshop has won the Rice University Women's Resource Center IMPACT Award in the Rice Staff category. Cynthia received this award on Friday, February 13 at Rice. Cynthia, also a math teacher at Milby High School in Houston, is shown here with students Paolo Argaez, Becky Tapia, and Angelina Meza during the 1997 GirlTECH/MCSA Workshop that she co-directed. At the seminar, graduate students urged GirlTECH/MCSA teachers to encourage their minority and women students to pursue science and mathematics careers. The workshop was co-sponsored by the NSF-funded Center for Research on Parallel Computation, Rice University, Houston, Texas, and the RGK Foundation of Austin, Texas.
