Summary

Through specific efforts at each center, the STC educational programs serve as links in a chain for educating the future scientists, engineers, and mathematicians of America. These initiatives are part of an overall NSF effort to address society's needs for a technical workforce and greater scientific literacy. With each program, more interest in science education is generated in a self-reinforcing way. In collaboration with partners from industry, universities, and government at the federal, state, and local levels, the STCs' diverse efforts in science education offer students, researchers, and the public opportunities for enhancement throughout their education and throughout the rest of their lives.
