PCRC Activities in NPAC

Geoffrey Fox, Xiaoming Li

Presented at the 1997 CRPC Annual Meeting Poster Session

PCRC (Parallel Compiler Runtime Consortium) is an ARPA-funded project involving eight institutions. At Syracuse, four distinct (but related) directions are pursued under this project:

  1. Development of a public domain common runtime library for parallel compilers and "Globalized" SPMD programming paradigm.
  2. Research and development of an HPF compiler using the common runtime.
  3. Construction of an infrastructure for high performance compiler/interpreter research and development.
  4. Study and experiment on integration of PCRC with WebTop computing, including issues on Java for scientific and engineering computation.

The poster will illustrate the approaches and current status of the activities.
