Presented at the
1997 CRPC Annual Meeting Poster Session
The poster addresses several CRPC activities in computational optimization
and its application to computational biology. These activities cover
four important areas:
- Design and implementation of interior-point methods that demonstrate promising global convergence properties.
- Extension of interior-point methodology to the important problem of semidefinite programming.
- Effective finite termination procedures in linear programming.
- Application of optimization techniques to important problems in computational biology; specifically, the phase retrieval problem in X-ray crystallography and the three-dimensional virus reconstruction problem.
This poster demonstrates progress made in each of these areas.
