Introduction
Under the direction of Mary F. Wheeler, the
Center for Subsurface and Surface Modeling (CSM)
at the University of Texas at Austin and
collaborators at the University of Houston and the University of Notre Dame
have taken efforts in the past two years to investigate how numerical modeling of shallow water flow equations might be applied to remediation options for polluted bays and estuaries. Their research also includes relevant parallel computational
issues such as domain decomposition and load balancing.
