Computers: The Machines, Science, People and Careers!

Rodney Hoffman of Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility talks to Southern California-area high school students about research issues and career opportunities in computer science during the fourth annual Computers: The Machines, Science, People and Careers! conference held March 18 and 19 at Caltech. During a variety of forums with Caltech faculty, staff, and other professionals, participants examined the history and evolution of computers; modern-day applications in research, business, and government; and the potential of parallel computing. More than 100 students from high schools with large minority enrollments attended the event.
