AWARENESS WORKSHOPS OPEN NEW WORLDS FOR K-12 TEACHERS

This summer, the CRPC helped to support two successful workshops that introduced career opportunities in science, mathematics, and engineering to teachers and administrators at K-12 schools with significant minority enrollment. The picture on the left includes participants from the Minorities Teachers Computational Sciences and Graphics Awareness Program at Caltech as well as CRPC faculty and participants in the CRPC summer program for undergraduate women and minorities. At right, attendees in the Mathematics and Computational Awareness Workshop at Rice University listen to Lucille Barrera, a past workshop participant, discuss her "Scientist of the Month" project.
