CRPC and Rice University Sponsor Computational Science and Engineering Graduate Degree Program

The Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) program at Rice University is designed to provide interdisciplinary research and education in the area of scientific computing. Degree candidates are trained in the use of the latest advanced numerical methods, high- performance hardware, and software development tools for parallel and vector computers. Candidates apply these techniques to at least one scientific or engineering area. The master's degree program trains candidates to work as technical specialists within an interdisciplinary research team. The Ph.D. degree program offers the same interdisciplinary approach but with greater specialization.

Participating departments include Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Geology and Geophysics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Statistics.

The deadline for applications is January 15, 1994. To request information and application materials, please contact Theresa Chatman, Computational Science and Engineering Graduate Degree Program, Center for Research on Parallel Computation, Rice University, 6100 S. Main Street, Houston, TX 77005, 713-348-5180 , 713-348-3111 (fax), tlc@cs.rice.edu.
