ParaScope 1.0 Toolset AvailableAlan Carle, Steve Carr, Seema Hiranandani, Ken Kennedy, Chuck Koelbel, John Mellor-Crummey, Chau-Wen Tseng, and Scott Warren, Rice UniversityThe CRPC is now distributing an alpha release of the ParaScope 1.0 toolset. The toolset is the product of extensive research in program analysis and program transformation conducted by the Fortran Programming Tools group of the CRPC. The ParaScope toolset includes the ParaScope Editor (PED), a debugging system (ERASER), the Fortran D Compiler, and the Memory Compiler. The toolset provides several needed features. Analysis facilities include static semantic analysis, data and control dependence analysis, control flow analysis, global value numbering, and interprocedural analysis. Program transformation facilities include reordering, dependence breaking, and memory optimizing transformations. Other miscellaneous transformations are also included, such as statement addition and deletion and loop bounds adjustment. The ParaScope 1.0 Toolset is supported under X11R4 with either Sun OS 4.x on Sun 4 workstations or AIX 3.2 on RS/6000 workstations. The toolset is implemented in C, C++, Yacc, and Lex. Binary and source distributions are available. Documentation for ParaScope 1.0 will be made available via anonymous ftp. Table of Contents |
