CRPC researchers at the Center for Subsurface and Surface Modeling (CSM) at the University of Texas at Austin are working as part of the Partnership in Computational Science (PICS) consortium to create and field test state-of-the-art groundwater simulations. Based on parallel algorithms for modeling flow in permeable media, these simulations aid in enhancing oil recovery and the removal of contaminants from fresh water aquifers.
