Summary: Today's educational community is facing several serious national challenges; including ineffective K-12 math education, the proper role of the computational sciences and technology in a K-12 environment, and continued extreme underrepresentation of various segments of our population. The speaker will discuss these issues, factors which affect them, and steps that can be taken towards improvement.
