Ken Kennedy Honored with ACM Programming Languages Achievement Award

CRPC Director Ken Kennedy has been selected by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to receive the 1998 ACM SIGPLAN Programming Languages Achievement Award. The award recognizes an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of programming languages.

Kennedy, the Ann and John Doerr Professor in Computational Engineering at Rice University, was honored for his many contributions to the computing field, including his body of work on parallelization and data flow analysis to support advanced programming environments.

Kennedy received the award at the ACM SIGPLAN Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation in Atlanta, Georgia on May 3.

The ACM is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, sciences and applications of information technology.
