We have developed a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the global
structure of the heliosphere which includes a population of
interstellar neutral hydrogen atoms which interact with both the solar
wind and interstellar plasmas via charge-exchange collisions. Both
ions and neutrals are treated as fluids.
The code runs on the Cray T3D
parallel supercomputer at JPL at a sustained speed of about 8
gigflop/s. The code uses the mesh spectral archetypes developed by the
NSF Center for Research on Parallel Computation.
