Researchers on the joint Boeing/IBM/CRPC project applied the parallel direct search (PDS) algorithm to two versions of Boeing's rotor design simulation for the Boeing V-22/Osprey tilt rotor aircraft. The simulations ran on the IBM SP2 at NASA Ames.
