Cynthia Lanius Named a STAR Honoree

CRPC Manager of K-12 Education Cynthia Lanius has been named a Spring 1997 STAR Honoree by the STAR (Students and Teachers Achieving Recognition) Society of the National Education and Technology Alliance.

Lanius, who also teaches mathematics at Houston's Milby High School, will be honored for "using the Internet in the classroom and beyond" at a Gala Award Banquet to held May 2 in conjuction with the 1997 Connected Classroom Conference. Nearly 2,800 people are projected to attend this conference.

Lanius' nationally acclaimed lessons entitled "Fractals" and "The Mathematics of Cartography" are available from http://cml.rice.edu/~lanius/, along with other resources for students, teachers, and counselors.
