Kennedy Honored with ACM Award

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) selected Ken Kennedy, the Ann and John Doerr Professor in Computational Engineering, to receive the 1998 ACM SIGPLAN Programming Languages Achievement Award. The award recognizes an individual who has made a "significant and lasting contribution to the field of programming languages."

The ACM cited Kennedy's many contributions to the computing field, including his body of work on parallelization and data flow analysis to support advanced programming environments.

Kennedy will receive the award at the ACM SIGPLAN Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation in Atlanta on May 3.
